Save variable in startup script, use it in shutdown script?

Hello, Is there an easy way to create a variable in the Wineskin Startup Script and then refer to that variable in the Shutdown Script? The only thing I can think of is to write a value to a plist file in the Startup Script and then access it in the Shutdown script, but I hope there's an easier way! Thank you!
